Zephyrous Travels: [Airline Review] 1

There are only 2 airlines that flies from Memanbetsu Airport – ANA and JAL. The check-in for ANA in Memanbetsu Airport is situated on the 1st floor of the terminal building, on the still left most part of the airport. You can find 3-ANA check-in counters in Memanbetsu, with counter-top 3 being the counter-top that will take check-in baggage.

We didn’t have to wait for our switch to check in as there is nobody in the queue. ANA has a right to gate service for travelers without check-in baggage, which could be the reason for no one at the queue for check-in. Checking-in fast was very, after the staff at the counter verified our names on the operational system, she handed over our boarding passes to us. We were also briefed which gate to visit and the boarding time for the short 50-min trip to New Chitose Airport.

ANA check-in counter is situated on level 1 left of MMB Airport. Departure halls in Memanbetsu Airport is situated on the 2nd floor of the terminal building, where security checks are being done before we are allowed into the airside of the terminal building. Memanbetsu Airport is a very small domestic airport terminal, there aren’t many shops around in the inside.

Our air travel departs from Gate 4, where in fact the announcement for boarding was done after we arrived at the inside soon. Boarding was done fairly fast at Gate 4. As there are no aerobridges to the aircraft, we headed down to level 1 and out onto the tarmac to board ANA4862 bound for New Chitose Airport. Waiting areas are open concept. ANA uses the twin-propeller engine Bombardier DHC8-Q400 for the flight to New Chitose. The aircraft only has one course, with a total of 74 Economy Class seats organized in 2-2 configurations. The cabin is decked out in the iconic ANA shades of blue seats and white cabin.

There is only one lavatory onboard ANA4862, situated in front of the plane, behind the stickpit. Despite being small, the lavatory has all the essential needs. The amenities in the lavatory is bound to hand soap and tissues. All the 74 seats onboard has a pitch of 31″ and a width of 17″. The legroom is great considering it being truly a single-class airplanes. As this is a domestic trip, there are no IFE’s onboard. The chairs on board are extremely basic but comfortable for the 50 in battle time to New Chitose Airport. There is only a button on the armrest for people to recline the chairs.

The control for lighting is situated on the ceiling above our seats. The reading materials are stowed in the solitary compartment large chair pocket. Removing from MMB Airport. Due to the short airline flight time, no snacks or food are served onboard. Immediately after the seat-belts signs off are, both pursuers quickly jumped into action to serve passengers either tea or coffee. Pursuers went throughout the cabin-2nd time to check on if passengers need more drinks.

The service on the ground and onboard are fantastic. On the ground, the staffs are very did and welcoming not allow us to wait for too long. After checking-in, the bottom ANA staffs thanked us for flying with ANA. Instructions for checking-in of departure and luggage information were given very clearly in the excellent Japanese style service. Despite only having 2 pursuers onboard, the service is in no way lacking.

Pursuers were seen bowing to travelers during boarding and would go around helping passengers stowing their carry-ons in the overhead area. The pursuers would bow and thank passengers for traveling with ANA when taxiing for take off. They are seen smiling to passengers throughout the 50-min air travel to CTS also.

When serving drinks. The pursuers held their smiles on. I pointed out that the pursuers would always check cleanliness of the lavatory whenever passengers used the toilet. These friendly pursuers made me feel wanted and pleasant to try their product on International Areas. Never I witness pursuers not smiling throughout the flight. During disembarking, these friendly pursuers were seen bowing to passengers and thanking them for flying with ANA. My experience with ANA soaring on their Bombadier DHC8-Q400 is an extremely pleasant one.

The airplanes are perfectly taken care of and the trip was very even. Despite in Economy Class, the legroom is superb. The ongoing service is first class from check-in to onboard services. Despite having only 2 pursuers onboard, the service is by no means lacking. Pursuers are seen smiling on a regular basis and helping passengers, displaying pride in their work despite being truly a domestic route. Such service is far better than some renowned international airlines and definitely better than the Business Class I flew into Hokkaido onboard Thai Airways. This brief experience with ANA made me want to soar on the international routes.
